Under her leadership, the foundation has become nationally affiliated, representing a significant achievement for the state.

Ms. Savage’s advocacy and leadership have been instrumental in elevating HBFCC standards across Mecklenburg County and statewide in North Carolina. She has actively participated in the development and implementation of policies aimed at overcoming challenges faced by providers, resulting in advancements such as the enhancement of the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) and the expansion of permissible capacities for home-based care settings.

She also received the BCDI Carolinas Eleanor Toliver Distinguished Leader award in 2024.

Her initiative attracted donations from major contributors like Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, Dancing Bear Toys, and countless others. This effort provided not just financial relief but also hope and stability to those facing immense challenges.

Ms. Savage’s work is rooted in a deep belief that family child care is a cornerstone of strong communities.
