Omega Wilcox is a seasoned early childhood leader and administrator with more than 25 years of experience operating her licensed Family Child Care Home in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina. Born in Lubbock, Texas and raised in Denver, Colorado, Omega has called Winston‑Salem home for over three decades. Her journey in child care began as a nanny after college, and quickly evolved into a lifelong mission to provide high‑quality, home‑based learning environments for young children.
Omega Wilcox Childcare Home has welcomed generations of families, many of whom now return to enroll their own children—a testament to the strong bonds and lasting impact she’s cultivated. Omega holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Forsyth Technical Community College and has served as a trusted voice in the field, including her role on the Advisory Board of Child Care Resources in Winston‑Salem, representing providers across Forsyth County.
In 2022, Omega was honored with the Outstanding Early Education Advocate Award by the North Carolina Early Education Coalition, recognizing her leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing the visibility and value of home‑based child care.
Outside of her professional life, Omega enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, reading, attending outdoor concerts, and leading Praise and Worship at her place of worship.
